Beck Traded To Washington

By Jesse Jones

Throughout the offseason, there have been questions as to whether or not Troy Smith would be traded.  Those questions became more serious when the Baltimore Ravens added Marc Bulger to the team, as the Ravens now had Joe Flacco, Bulger, Smith, and John Beck on their roster.

Troy Smith can breathe now, as Baltimore has traded John Beck to the Washington Redskins.  In return, the Ravens got a local cornerback, Doug Dutch.  Dutch, 5’11” 199 pounds, played at the University of Michigan and was on the Skins practice squad last season.

The move brings depth to training camp while the team is evaluating free agent corners to bring in to replace Foxworth.  The move also leaves the Ravens with their three quarterbacks for the season.
