As the trade deadline looms, the Washington Capitals have made two trades.

One trade sent the team’s 2010 second-round NHL Entry Draft pick to Minnesota in exchange for center Eric Belanger.  Belanger, 32 years old, is playing in his 10th season in the NHL.  This season, he has scored 13 goals and has 22 assists.

The other trade sent Washington’s 2010 seventh-round NHL Entry Draft pick to the division rivals Carolina Hurricanes for right wing Scott Walker.  Walker is in his 15th season in the NHL, and only has 3 goals and 2 assists in 33 games.  Throughout his NHL career, Walker has also played in various leagues such as the OHL, WC, AHL, and OHASr.

Tonight, the Washington Capitals face off against the Sabres in Buffalo.  Watch to see how the break has rested the teams, and how many, if any, shots go in the net against red hot goalie Ryan Miller.
