Wizards Win, Waive James

wizards nets

By Jesse Jones

Last night in New Jersey, the Washington Wizards beat the New Jersey Nets 89-85.  The Nets were coming off a win in Boston, and are trying to get past the nine win mark to avoid having the worst record in NBA history.  The Wizards are just playing for pride.

Andray Blatche put up a career high 36 points, and grabbed 15 rebounds.  Al Thornton scored 20 points and brought down 8 rebounds.   And despite having a poor shooting performance, Randy Foye hit two shots in the final minute of the game that put the “dagger” in the Nets.

What’s frightening to hear is that the Wizards’ bench only contributed four total points the entire game. Enough said.

Washington is now 21-36, which is 3 games better than last year’s overall record.

Mike James Waived

After all but four games of the season spent on the bench, the Wizards and Mike James came to a buyout agreement as James was waived.

James was brought to Washington in the trade that sent Antonio Daniels to New Orleans.
