Depleted Wizards Sign Shaun Livingston

By Jesse Jones

Remember Shaun Livingston?  The 6-7 guard who came out of high school with non-stop hype?

Most remember him by his knee injury that has basically ruined his career.  Against the Bobcats in a February game in 2007, Livingston tore his ACL, MCL, and PCL in his left leg as he landed awkwardly coming down from a layup.

Now Livingston has signed with a team that has terrible luck with injury.  Washington signed him to a 10-day contract because of the injury to Josh Howard.

In last night’s overtime loss to the Knicks, Livingston only played two minutes and did not get in the stat book.

Other Team Notes

  • The Wizards bought out Zydrunas Ilgauskas, allowing him to sign with another team or wait 30 days to return to Cleveland.
  • After Josh Howard’s injury, the Wizards have lost to the Grizzlies and Knicks (both at home).
  • James Singleton suffered a sprained ankle in last night’s loss.
  • Forward Mike Harris was brought up from the D-League Wednesday.
