Zorn will finish season as coach

Everything seems to be settled between these three...for now

By Ben Linton

We told you it would be a crazy week. After much uncertainty was hovering around the direction in which the franchise wanted to go, Executive Vice President of Football Operations Vinny Cerrato announced that Jim Zorn would finish out the season as head coach of the Washington Redskins. He did this on his radio on sports talk 980, explaining “Jim Zorn is the head coach of the Washington Redskins and will be for the rest of this season, and hopefully into the future.”

It all makes since to me now. Cerrato and Snyder did not take away play calling from Zorn just to “help out” the offense or clean Jim’s plate; They did it to try to get him to resign. And since he did not waiver or falter at this demotion, they decided to stick with him until the end of the season. It seems that Snyder and Co. want Zorn gone, but don’t know how to do it. Even if the Redskins turn this season around, Zorn will not get the praise, Sherman Lewis will.  Even though it is inevitable that Zorn will be gone after this season, it would have caused even more drama and chaos if they let him go only 7 weeks into the season.

So that pretty much wraps up this week for the Redskins off the field. Now all we can do is sit back and watch what happens on the field.
