Terps continue road woes, lose to wake forest

Maryland Wake Forest Football

By Ben Linton

The Maryland Terrapins Football Team has continued to struggle on the road and at night with a 42-32 loss to Wake Forest Saturday. After evening up the score at seven, Wake Forest scored 21 unanswered points and took a 35-10 lead at halftime. Although Maryland rallied in the second half to make the score seem more respectable, it was never close and Wake dominated for the most part. Here are some key stats from yesterday’s game:

  • With this loss, Maryland has now lost their last five road games, and their last seven night games
  • Wake Forest scored on their first five possessions and finished with over 500 yards of total offense
  • Riley Skinner threw four touchdown passes, and threw for 360 yards
  • Chris Turner also played well, passing for 407 yards with three touchdowns and an interception

This team is becoming a nightmare to watch. You can almost tell from the beginning of the game whether or not they are going to win. They either get off to a fast start and keep it going, or start slow and never recover. This team has been lacking consistency for the past two years and its really starting to bother me. It’s almost as if I would rather see this team just lose consistency so I know what to expect, rather than just win a big game here and there. Next week, Maryland goes back home to Byrd Stadium for their Homecoming game vs. Virginia, who has won two straight games. Kickoff is at 4:00 PM.
