All L.A. World Series?

By Ben Linton

The Major League Baseball playoff have just started, and we at All Metro Sports World think that the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will be in the World Series when its all said and done. We think.

Thus far during the post season, the Dodgers and Angels have looked the most impressive. The Dodgers have beaten the St. Louis Cardinals in the first two games, against their two best pitchers. The Dodgers lit up Chris Carpenter for four runs in five innings to win Game 1 5-3. In game 2 the Dodgers rallied in the 9th inning with two outs to comeback and win 3-2. Now they travel to St. Louis to try to wrap up the series, as the Cardinals have wasted their two best pitchers and have zero wins.

The Angels had an impressive showing in Game 1 against the Red Sox, crushing them 5-0. Tori Hunter jacked a three-run home run as the Angels gained momentum in the series. One advantage the Angels have in their series against Boston and with possible future vs. the Yankees (most likely) is home-field advantage. In the past five series’ at Angels Stadium, the Angels are 11-4 vs. the Yankees and 10-5 vs. the Red Sox. That stat bodes well for the Angels this postseason.

But the great thing about October is that anything is possible. We may end up seeing a Twins-Rockies World Series, and this post becomes completely meaningless. As for now, we’ll mark it as an educated guess. But you heard it here first.
