Big Baby Playing Football?

By Jesse Jones

Glen “Big Baby” Davis used to play football in high school before taking a scholarship to play basketball at LSU.  To this day, he still thinks he can play football…in the NFL.  Davis recently told the media, “When I become an All-Star in the NBA, when I become a great player in the NBA, then I’ll try football. One of my dreams has always been to play football.”

His body is definitely the body type for a NFL player, 6 foot 9′, 290 pounds.  If he were to play in the NFL, which I don’t know how effective he’ll be after being out of the game for so long, I could see him playing on the defensive line.  He played there in high school (familiarity), and his body is too big for almost any other positions.  Everybody already knows how aggressive he is, such as when he pushed the Orlando Magic fan out of the way after he won the game.

Big Baby Pushing Fan

Not only is it a question as to if Big Baby can make it to the NFL, but does anybody truly believe that he will become an All-Star and “great player in the NBA”?  I’m not bashing him at all, because he has a lot of potential, but he has a long way to go before this happens, and if it does, he might be too old to join the NFL.

I am with you and don’t see him as a potential All Star NBA player, but stranger things have happened.
